Unplowed, snowy streets...

This morning, running with the girls at 4:30 was fun and challenging! The snow on the streets were quite deep and a challenge to run in. The quads were definitely engaged, shorter stride, eyes focused on the footing. Many runners would look out, see the snow and turn around to the treadmill. Yes, that is easy to do.....

But the benefits are wonderful getting out. The snow creates a cushioning under the feet, engaging all sorts of muscles to stabilize (including core!), and of course, the added resistance of trudging through the sparkling fluff. Your time will not be as fast in the snow, yet when the snow goes and the asphalt is exposed you will see the benefits - you will feel like you are flying! Running in the snow, it's all a part of the training.

Keep in mind to still stand with a tall posture, relaxed form, let go of the tension.

Let your imagination run wild...pretend your running on some tropical beach in the beautiful white sand...the wind is the sound of waves. With the proper attire, you'll be warm in no time (but remember not too overdress!).

Love running with these tough, hardcore, morning chics. Afternoon chics, tomorrow we start up again with the New Year. Get ready for fun!
