Cold, Windy...bundle up and get out in it!
Just getting out in the cold is a workout in itself. Sometimes you need to leave the GPS at home, let go of your pace, your distance and go on perceived exertion...especially on days like today - below zero, strong winds. Just knowing the accomplishment of getting out is a feat in itself - without all the technical pressures of reaching your "goals" for that day. Then, if you are so fortunate to have a treadmill in your home or at the gym, throw on a few miles of hills if you want an additional workout.
Another good workout - taking your kids sledding - going up and down those hills (especially up, of course!) is similar to hill repeats - I think I ran up the sled hill about 30 times pulling the sleds up while my kids enjoyed screaming and flying down!
If you don't get out in this snow...its going to be a loooooong winter indoors. Think there is enough snow now to slap on the xcskiis and head out the door!
